After many months of sitting on a little aluminum fish boat dreaming of boat building, today I started building a pathfinder. I asked my daughter what a good name for the boat might be and without hesitation she replied "SEA SERPENT"  I think that's her name.

I have spent several days organizing a space to build in. I put a floor in a open sided car port and made a 16 foot bench . I think it is a great space.

The first thing I did was build the building frame, taking great care and time to make the frame straight,  level, rigid and secured to the floor.

Even though Canada is a metric country, anything to do with wood is still in the imperial system and although I have a strong grasp of the meter it is going to take a few days getting used to using the other side of the ruler

I decided to make the templates for the frames in 1/8 door skin first . This makes a rigid permanent pattern I can use on the plywood. I also am doing this because If I ever decide to make another pathfinder I will save a lot of time with these patterns.  After I pay royalties to John for another build of course.
The end of a good day. I completed the building frame and made patterns for frame 1 and 2
